What Orylin is

Orylin is a browser communication service for short-lived sessions. One person creates an invitation and another opens it in a compatible browser.

The current product supports encrypted messages and files, plus voice while the peers have a Direct connection. The session UI, keys and application state live in the participating browsers.

The service model

There is no account-registration flow, contact list or cloud inbox. The invitation is the coordination object for a session; the browser keeps its secret out of ordinary HTTP requests when it is carried in the URL fragment.

Orylin infrastructure can process request, signaling and network metadata needed to coordinate a connection. It does not expose an application endpoint that accepts session messages or files as plaintext.

What Orylin does not promise

Orylin is not presented as anonymous, traffic-analysis resistant, independently audited, legally certified, forward-secret or production-level post-quantum secure.

A successful browser check proves only the checks it ran. It does not certify every network, device, browser or security property.

• Direct peers and network providers can observe connection metadata needed to carry traffic.
• A public Nostr rescue path can expose encrypted-message metadata to external relays.
• The volunteer relay is bounded, single-hop and ciphertext-only; it is not a general proxy.
