SHORT-LIVED CONVERSATIONS

Start a temporary private chat without an account

Create a conversation invitation and let the other person join in a browser. Orylin encrypts message content end to end and keeps active session state in browser memory rather than creating a cloud inbox.

Choose a temporary session for a short conversation

A temporary chat can help coordinate a one-off file handoff, discuss a task or talk while helping someone with a computer. It does not create a persistent contact list or an inbox the recipient can open later.

Agree on a time when both people can be present. If you need a durable record, decide how to keep permitted information before the session ends; Orylin does not promise cloud-history recovery.

Create an invitation and confirm the intended person

Open the conversation workspace and create an invitation. Share the generated link privately, or show the invitation QR code to the intended person. A plain link to the Orylin homepage is not a conversation invitation.

Check who joined before exchanging sensitive material. An invitation lets someone attempt to join the session; it is not a verified legal identity. Keep the invitation out of public posts, logs and screenshots.

Check the path before switching from text to voice

Orylin first tries Direct WebRTC. A user-enabled volunteer relay can forward bounded ciphertext without receiving the session keys. Public Nostr rescue can carry encrypted messages and coordination events, with metadata visible to external relays.

Voice requires a Direct connection and pauses when the session is no longer Direct. Microphone permission and a working audio device are separate requirements; receiving text does not prove voice is ready.

End the conversation with realistic privacy expectations

Disconnect when the task is finished. Session keys and active conversation state are held in volatile browser memory; there is no Orylin cloud inbox from which to restore the conversation.

The other person can still copy messages, record audio or take a screenshot. Encrypted content and temporary session state do not guarantee anonymity, erase another person's copies or remove network metadata.

Questions and answers

Can I recover the conversation after closing the page?

Orylin does not create a cloud conversation history or permanent inbox. Do not rely on being able to recover the session after closing it.

Does temporary chat mean messages cannot be copied?

No. A participant can copy or record what they receive. Temporary browser state does not control another person's saved copies.

Can I make a voice call on a fallback connection?

Voice is Direct-only in the current browser product. Text connectivity through a fallback path does not establish voice availability.
