CHOOSE A TASK

Practical guides to private sharing and remote connections

Choose the task you need to finish. These guides explain the steps for both devices, what a successful result looks like and which connection limits matter.

Send a file while both people are online

Use an encrypted browser session when you want to hand a file directly to another person without creating an account or leaving a cloud download page. Keep both devices open until the recipient has received and saved it.

Start a conversation without a permanent inbox

A temporary conversation suits a short coordination task. The invitation starts the session; it does not create a contact list or a history you can recover after closing the page.

Connect to a computer with its owner's approval

Sharing a local development service and controlling another computer are different tasks. Check the desktop app requirements, target address and permissions before inviting someone.

Check the path before choosing the workload

Direct WebRTC is the preferred browser path. The volunteer relay has a 2 MiB file limit; public Nostr rescue carries messages and control only. Voice requires Direct. A network check describes that check, so verify the actual session and the result at the receiving device.

Connect

Open a temporary session and invite the other person.
